okay i'll try to keep it short and sweet.
i need a remote control program so that i can control windows media player (although i would be open to a new media player if absolutely necessary) via bluetooth on my treo 650. the reason i am having issues with other remote programs is because i need to be able to play videos, not just music.
will salling let me open video files through windows media player?
also, i cannot connect my phone to my computer. i am able to achieve a (bluetooth) connection between my phone and computer using other remote programs, but not with salling, is there a common problem with newbies on this? |

Hi,
If you cannot connect, I'd be prone to think your PC has a Bluetooth stack with which we're not at this time compatible.
Salling Clicker supports the Microsoft and Widcomm/Broadcom stacks.
Could you please check the device manager to see what stack you have (unless you already know, of course)?
Best.

No problem. Do this:
1. Start Menu -> Run : enter "devmgmt.msc" and click OK.
2. In the device manager window that opens, look for "Bluetooth".
3. Right-click, in turn, the Bluetooth items you find and select "Properties"; the "Driver" tab will tell you the manufacturer of each of these components.
Best.

That is good news! Now, could you please check the About tab in Salling Clicker?
Best.

did you want me to see that it says microsoft? i see that if that's why you mean look at the about tab, but that doesn't really help me to understand how to make them link. i must've missed what you meant by checking the about tab? |

Yes, I wanted to verify that you saw "Microsoft" in the About tab. I presume you did.
Now that I know you have a working Bluetooth stack, I'd like to know how you cannot establish a connection. You know, error messages and such.
Best.

Sorry, I should have asked you about the nature of the problem before I took you down the path of figuring out what stack you had (which seems to be the most common problem, actually).
Best.
