This is a semi-advanced topic, but if you're comfortable with JScript/VBScript programming, it can be rather fun!

I plan on releasing documentation on the APIs. In the meantime, the scripts that ship with Salling Clicker for Windows should be useful examples.

Best.

AFAIK, there's nothing remotely resembling AppleScript in Windows. I have no illusions of reverse-engineering RealPlayer (took me under an hour to hack up some basic stop / play / volume-features even though I've NEVER written AppleScript before), but what can we expect in terms of generic scripting abilites for Windows?

As I mentioned in another thread, I'd insanely much appreciate Salling support for TeamSpeak (launching it, and passing keystrokes to it) and Media Player Classic (same thing). I consider myself a reasonable hacker; any pointers on how to get started?

I am working on a chm to document the APIs. In the meantime, those who have OleView.exe on their computers can find the API in there.

Best.

Here's another way (of several ways) to look:
(1) download & install activestate Python, e.g.:
http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePython/windows/2.3/ActivePython-2.3.4-233-win32-ix86.msi

(2) launch the "PythonWin IDE". Then select Tools->COM browser.

(3) select "Registered Type Libraries" and then "Salling Clicker 1.0 Type Library".

I attached a screenshot of the result, inside a .zip file.

python-object-browser-salling-clicker.zip

Also, windows has a tool called WScript. You can call code from there, so theoretically you could write some cool stuff and call it from wscript.

Here's an example... For example, let's say you wanted to start or stop a service on your PC....

Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

objShell.Run ("cmd /c restart_service.cmd"),1,TRUE

Wscript.Quit

You would create a batch file on your PC called restart_service.cmd which has the service you wish to stop or start, i.e.

NET START W3SVC
would start the World Wide Web publishing service on your PC
