Hello,

would it be possible to make an little remote for an iSight?
So you can start to take a film or a take a photo?

Thanks you for helping.

Check this out:

http://www.optima-system.com/camspinner/

Not sure it does everything you need, but it might be worth trying out.

Best.

1. Download isightcapture

2. Move the isightcapture command to /usr/local/bin

3. Duplicate the Screen Caputure script.

4a. Replace the following line:

do shell script ("screencapture " & target_path)

4b. with this:

do shell script ("/usr/local/bin/isightcapture -w 640 -h 480 -t jpg " & target_path)

5. Move the new script to your clicker items, and click Apply.

The photos will be saved to the Pictures folder, and should also display on your phones screen.

That's a brilliant little app, although I can't see a use in being able to display an iSight image on the phones display as generally you will be in Bluetooth range anyway (ie, in the same room).

isightcapture doesn't allow you to record a movie, and I am not aware of a command line program that does. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The webpage for isightcapture does list one interesting option:
[code:1]-n capture nth-frame[/code:1]
Perhaps the script could be modded to take a series of pictures. Then you would use Quicktime to compile the images into a movie.

Yes. It should be possible. I investigated this a while back, and iStopMotion has a rather neat AppleScript interface.

Best.
