I have a SLVR L7. I was able to install the software on both my computer and laptop.

When i launch the program on the phone, it says that "it appears that salling clicker is not launched on the computer" even when the program is launched on the computer. i

installed the jar/jad files from both sending it via bluetooth and from my wap browser? anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions

Thanks

Hi,

It appears to me that your PC is using a Bluetooth stack with which we're currently not compatible.

You should have been shown a "warning" panel about this when Salling Clicker was first launched.

Please check here:

Salling Clicker -> About -> Support Information

More stacks will be supported in an upcoming version.

Best.

Hey. That was a bit surprising!

I'm not sure what might be going on. Could you please make 100% sure your phone and computer are paired with each other?

Or perhaps restart the computer?

Best.

Restarted.

Any way you prefer to determine pairing?

My computer detects the phone when i click on the bluetooth icon in the icon tray (in the lower right). my phone asks if i want to connect to my computer which has a name that it finds. after this point, it always asks if the program is running on the comp.

im assuming bluetooth is paired. i can even send files between the phone and comp.

i'll be honest, i tried to use another program and ran into the same problem. i hear yours is great, so i'll continue to try to get it to work.

thanks

I've got a question: you said you installed the software on your phone. How did you do this?

As you may be aware, Cingular has blocked the Bluetooth APIs (JSR-82) on this phone, so it won't work if you just install the application.

Best.

at first i just did the right click and sent the files via bluetooth. then clicked install.

then i kept reading, and it looked like that may not work, as per the instructions and the Forum. So i deleted the program from the phone.

then i went to wap.salling.com on my phones browser and installed it like that. Again i apologoize, but im not sure what API or JR82 is. Is there a way around this?

thanks for being helpful, this is good learning as well.

sorry for the lack of knowledge, here is what i now know.

Ok so the API (application programming interface) you require is JSR-82. Which you said cingular has blocked. anyways around this or do i need a new phone?

do i need to get files signed?
is this all hopeless?

Have a look at this:

100% unsupported by me, and you may brick your phone, but this is your chance.

since this is a cingular issue. if i unlock the phone, would that solve the issue or is it purely a software thing?

Unlocking the phone would only allow you do use non-Cingular SIM cards with it.

You'd either need to flash the phone with non-Cingular firmware (very hard/"impossible") or you could try "MotoMidMan". Search for it in the forums; you'll find a user write-up for the SLVR on Cingular. Should work with the V3i as well.

Best.
