I tryed the newest Salling 3.5 with a java client for SLVR L7. Is working very well except the fact that isnt DIMM the screen, so is draining very rapidly the battery. Same problem with the PALM client.

The client for Palm and java mobile phones dont blank the screen. Please add this option. Please add an ShuttOff the screen after 1 or 2 minutes without to use the mobile and "wakeup" the screen with any button press.

raducoc:

You may not know this, but your phone model automatically keeps the screen awake for any Java application.

As for the Palm, I recommend you simply turn down the backlighting should you want to.

Best.

And there is no workaround solution to dimming the screen? With screen always on, the battery is draining fast. About the Palm client, are some apps that are dimming the scree. TCPMP and PocketTunes, to name some of them. TCPMP is an opensource project so maybe you can take a look how the stuf works. And about the MobilePhone client, maybe an option to reduce the brightness of the screen to 5-10% (lowest level possible) after 1-2 minutes of no use.

I'm not aware of any workaround on the Motorola. For the Palm, it's pretty clear that something could be done. I'm just thinking that different use cases call for different backlight needs, so it's not unreasonable for the user to control the backlight manually.

Best.
