I'm trying to modify the FrontRow script so that it simulates cmd+option+esc rather than just cmd+esc. I poked around in the FrontRow script; I looked around in the forums for modifier values; I tinkered with the SEC Helper dictionary in Script Editor - but I'm a complete ActionScript noob, so it didn't do me any good.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Okay. Here's a little help for you.

Add this line at the top:

property kOptionKeycode : 3 * 16 + 10

The find this section:

simulate keyboard virtual down keycode kCommandKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual down keycode kEscKeycode

Replace with this:

simulate keyboard virtual down keycode kCommandKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual down keycode kOptionKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual down keycode kEscKeycode

Then find this section:

simulate keyboard virtual up keycode kEscKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual up keycode kCommandKeycode

Replace with:

simulate keyboard virtual up keycode kEscKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual up keycode kOptionKeycode
simulate keyboard virtual up keycode kCommandKeycode

Save and enjoy.

Best.

Brilliant. I actually changed it to Option + Esc, because of course, Cmd + Option + Esc is the Force-quit key combo.

In any case, for my education, how would I have known that the keycode for Option was 3 * 16 + 10? Is there a list of the keycodes somewhere? I tried to find it...

Thanks again, Jonas.

Simon:

I found the list here in the forums by searching for "virtual keycodes", going back to the older posts in the Archives.

Best.
