@dabrai_sid
- Removed the bug with Drive C.
- Added 'Enqueue and Play' in 'ActiveWinamp File Explorer'. On my computer, your script does not what i think it should do. After adding files, it always played playlist entry 6.

@dzid_
to show 'My Music' as your default folder, search for
var PersonalPfad = wsh.RegRead "HKCU\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders\\Personal");
and replace 'Personal' with 'My Music'.

My mod of:
http://www.salling.com/forums/download.php?id=480

This is for open other files...

I was changed two lines of script:

[code:1]var DateiTypen = "AAC:APL:ASF:ASX:AVI:CDA:M2V:M3U:M4A:MP1:MP2:MP3:MP4:MPEG:MPG:PLS:wav:WMA:WMV:WPL:TXT:JPG:BMP:GIF:DOC";[/code:1]
[code:1]var PlayerPfad = "C:\\WINDOWS\\explorer.exe";[/code:1]

Please fix this script for open any kind of files in windows with default programs;. (txt - Notepad, doc - Word, xml - Excel, etc.)

Can someone help me out.
I have attempted to change the file type handles in this script so that i can browse and open programs remotely.

This is the original string
[code:1]
var DateiTypen = "AAC:APL:ASF:ASX:AVI:CDA:M2V:M3U:M4A:MP1:MP2:MP3:MP4:MPEG:MPG:PLS:WAV:WMA:WMV:WPL:TXT:JPG:BMP:GIF:DOC";
[/code:1]

By simply adding
[code:1]var DateiTypen = "AAC:APL:ASF:ASX:AVI:CDA:EXE:M2V:M3U:M4A:MP1:MP2:MP3:MP4:MPEG:MPG:PLS:WAV:WMA:WMV:WPL:TXT:JPG:BMP:GIF:DOC";
[/code:1]
the :EXE: to the list it will call on the file but does not run it, it brings up a dialogue box asking if the file should be opened, run or saved.

Is there a way to get round this?

...open any kind of files in windows with default programs;. (txt - Notepad, doc - Word, xml - Excel, etc.)

Try this:
1. Open 'Winamp File Explorer.js'.
2. Add file extensions to
[code:1]var DateiTypen = "AAC:APL:ASF:ASX:AVI:CDA:M2V:M3U:M4A:MP1:MP2:MP3:MP4:MPEG:MPG:PLS:wav:WMA:WMV:WPL:TXT:JPG:BMP:GIF:DOC";[/code:1]
3. Search for
[code:1]app.ShellExecute(PlayerPfad, "\"" + browser.name + "\"");[/code:1]
and replace it with
[code:1]wsh.Run("\"" + browser.name + "\"");[/code:1]

Thanks Peter - that works beautifully now :)

I reckon you should make a new thread for the "open any file with default program" script this has now become.

It's super useful - especially if I want my gf or anyone less geeky than me to use SC. That way they don't have to know which remote script to use to open any particular files.

Thanks again

Do you think there would be a way of modifying this script so it just browsed files and opened them?

What I mean, is is there a way to avoid the open/play/enqueue dialogues that one currently has to go through?

It would be great if one could just browse the files intuitively, and open the file you want, without having to select "open" each time you change folder.

Thanks!

PostPosted: Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:07 am    Post subject: Appearance/IDTag Problem Reply with quote

The problem I am having is the following. I am currently using the last script PETER sent to Al.Nabil... I am guessing this problem is with all winamp script mods. Let me explain:

My mp3 files have all the same structure when it comes to IDTag.
I use them as:
Artist - Track Number - Title (This is how they appear on winamp, but the actual name of the file is only Track Number - Title

The problem I am having is that when I play one of this mp3 the image seems to go down and I see only the Track Title and only the upper half of the artist.

This doesn't happen when I play a non-tagged mp3.

I am using a Palm Tungsten T, and the latest version of winamp and only use this modified winamp script because the original one maintains the "Lost Contact with Winamp" text.

Hope someone can help me.
Thnx

I know It will sound quite basic... but I figured It out

The mp3s that appear correctly are the ones with nothing else that the Artist and the Title. There must be some kind of bug in the script that when files have the album on the IDTag they do not display correctly.

Is there any chance someone can modify the script so that it disregards the album and the rest of the IDTag?

I only need it to show the ARTIST - TITLE.

Please Help!!!

Thanks Peter for this great script

Can someone help me edit this "File Explorer" script so it opens the files straight away, and doesn't ask whether I want to open or queue the files.

Thanks
