Hi - When I try to connect my SONY Walkman X via USB the salling sphere spins in the menu bar but nothing else happens.
I see the following errors in the console.

oh! - I thought your application also transcoded proper album artwork from the itunes album art store.
Thats what I really need.
SONY gave me this nice app for mac to synch media on my Sony Erricson W995a and it properly formats all of the files with album art and everything.
I wish that same app worked with my Walkman X but it doesnt :(
Do you think your app could ever do that?
Nice interface BTW. |

Artwork: we do include artwork that you've downloaded in iTunes (in the Mac version only). I have it on good authority that this works for other X1061 users. Not sure what you mean by "transcoding", though?
Perhaps the artwork issue has something to do with the hack you employed to get the connection to work?
As for the USB connectivity. Were you instructed to install the "kernel extension"?
Best.

I was not instructed to install the kernel extension and I do not see it in system/library.
Is there some way I can force the kernel extension? |

I had been putting media on this device with my PS3. Perhaps the PS3 has written something to it?
I will try formating it now and see if your applications works as intended. |

I formatted the Walkman X and reconnected it fresh but it still will not detect it and launch the kernel installer.
For now I am using the hack to get by. Any assistance on how to use your software as intended would be most appreciated.
I am on intel imac 3.06 ghz OSX version 10.5.7
Itunes version = 8.2.1 (6)
Thanks in advance! |

Could you please let me know the USB Product ID for this device? You can check in System Profiler -> Hardware -> USB.
Best.

yep - as soon as I am done with this 2 hour synch I got going now I will post it.
Your software is very nice. compliments extended.
I also have a Walkman W series and a PSP. I am going to test with those as well.
If I can get it working properly with this walkman X I will go ahead and license as thats what I need it for most. |

It should be easy to get this taken care of. You can check the Product ID while it's syncing, btw.
Best.

Excellent. Thanks for letting me know.
Please enable "Check for beta versions" in the application Preferences. I'll post a beta of 1.1.3 soon that'll take care of this for you.
This beta is now available. Check to updates will do the trick.
Best.

Issue resolved
Software licensed
Thanks you!
Its still not copying some of my album arts, but I believe its because some of them are just wayyy to big. They will display in itunes, on an ipod, on my PS3 via MediaLink and on my SONY Erricson W995a (because it resizes them for the phone)
Im sure if I resize the problem album arts to 300x300 or something they should work.
Thanks again! |

Size is not the issue, as we resize the art prior to transfer. Could be a bug in the device, or a problem with the artwork in iTunes causing us to throw it away.
If you want me to have a look at it, please send a sample file via email to jonas at salling.com.
Best.
