Hi.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree with John on this.

The BT button simply does not react to GUI scripting actions, and since =
=20
we can't move the SEC Helper mouse to a specific location, we can't=20=20
test to see it the mouse down/up events of SEC does better...

If it helps, I think AB does a custom-coded job with the BTB, since it=20=20
disappears when the BT adaptor is not there, and seem to 'move'=20=20
differently when clicked...

Ain't that a bit long? ;-)
Here's my take on it:

property Xoffset : 87 -- Bluetooth button X
property Yoffset : 40 -- Bluetooth button Y

tell application "Address Book"
activate
set wbounds to bounds of window 1
set x to (item 1 of wbounds) + Xoffset
set y to (item 2 of wbounds) + Yoffset
tell application "System Events"
tell process "Address Book"
click at {x, y}
end tell
end tell
end tell

Regarding get properties of window "Address Book"
Strange this works, since the window does not have a title!

Regarding get properties of every UI element of window "Address Book"
Why? You get the data you need in the next line:
set winLocation to the position of window "Address Book"

Actually, the first too lines simply slows down the code a lot... :-)
And the AB Dictionary have a command for it directly, no need to use=20
GUIS for this...

In fact I think that I can't script any menu on an app !
I've just downloaded Scrit editor 2 and nothing change !!!
Why I can't script any menu !!!

>Ok, then use this. Instead of menu "Address Book" it refers to the
menu by index.

tell application "Address Book" to activate
tell application "System Events"
tell process "Address Book"
click menu item "Address Book" of menu 7 of menu bar 1
end tell

You have the GUI scripting installed?

Perhaps reinstall it?

I get this gut feeling it's a language barrier. If you can stand it,
can you select english as the primary language and reboot and see if it
works?

Mac through the computer....
Wouldn't that create a black hole or something?

Anyways, the error you're getting means that you're trying to control a
ui element that doesn't exist. (IME)

> 3. Clicker Interrupts Network Use?
> From: "brandonarbini"

Jonas,

This doesn't really bother me because I like to always keep my t68i
near my Powerbook 12" G4, but I have the same problem as the above
person. As soon as I take my phone out of range the Internet stops
functioning. At best I get a trickle of data (most sites won't load at
all). As soon as the phone goes back in range the Internet functions
properly again.

Here's my setup:

SEC 1.5 (159), used in tandem with Address Book (has worked fine
without me needing to switch BT ports).
PowerBook G4 12" with internal Bluetooth.
Airport Extreme card using a grey Airport Base Station connected to
Bigpond ADSL (Sydney, Aust).
T68i, probably with a very old version of internal software (have been
meaning to get it updated).

I read your response to brandonarbini and tried what you suggested.
With Bluetooth active on SEC and Address Book I started an iSync.
During the sync I tried surfing the Internet. No problem.

There is a bug here that you and/or Apple will probably want to solve
(although, like I said, it really doesn't bug me).

Hope this helps. Kris Kunze.

Regarding my last email with SEC and Internet problem, I forgot to say
that I am using 10.2.5.

Cheers, Kris Kunze.

I will look into this.

- jonas

PS. I have not heard many reports about this problem. It may be an
Airport extreme problem.
