that shouldn't be too hard. try this:

tell application "Address Book"
close window 1
end tell

I'm not sure about the bluetooth connection, though. Address Book
doesn't work with my phone, anyway, and it doesn't seem to be
scriptable. If you need to activate Bluetooth using AppleScript, it
could possibly be done with GUI Scripting.

That is one solution. The easiest.

To do so, you select the "Address Book / Bluetooth re-connect" script, you =
open it in
ScriptEditor (the little "gear " menu gives you this option), and you add t=
hese lines in the
middle/end of the script:
after :
-------
[...]
tell application "System Events"
set the visible of process "Address Book" to ABIsVisable
end tell
-------
and before :
-------

end try

end doReconnect
-------

Basically what it does is tell AB to close its main window hat was just ope=
n and made
visible by the restart.
(you could also say:
-------
tell application "Address Book"
close window "Address Book"
end tell
-------
as AppleScript knows windows by their title too)

The only problem is that any other window of AB that was open (like the car=
d of a person
you double clicked) will remain open!

Another (and better in my view) way is to force AB to remain invisible.
I know the whole point of Jakob's Address Book re-connect script was to kee=
p the
preferences of Address Book as before re-connection (invisible / hidden if =
it was so
before) but I think most users don't hide applications anymore since exposé=
. (or since it is
actually quite slow to show again an hidden app)
So you could also hack the script by just changing the "ABIsVisable" variab=
le to a set value
of "false":
like this:
------
tell application "System Events"
set the visible of process "Address Book" to false
end tell
-----
My only gripe with this kludge is that we have useless lines in the scripts=
(the ones trying
to figure out previous visibility status) so we woud be better off rewritin=
g the script!

Thanks for so quick answer Jonas. Could you give us an updated list of
compatible phone with Mobilesync, tested or not ? I need to change my T68i
very quick, second time it doesn't phone anymore, second T68i.. So a T630 or
Z600 (or other ?) would be great.

Best regards

Any "traditional" (no Symbian) SEMC phone with Bluetooth will work.

I have no idea. Depends on how much Philips was able to license from
SEMC. I didn't even know Philips was a licensee.

Thanks.

Hello Jonas,

(Wow, that's one FAST answer)
If you refer to this page : "Log phone calls in iCal — George Tempel
(Added 2004-03-18)"
I'm afraid there's no link (apparently, or maybe it's just me) to
click on.

On another thing, I installed Salling Clicker on my Clié TH55, and I
have a small issue when I try to update the menus on my PDA; when I
click on "Apply", nothing happens on the PDA, even though it's
connected with my Mac, and the bluetooth icons flash on both systems.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, let me know if you need more
details.

Thank you very much,
Fabien

Both links are fine. As for your Palm problem, I'm not sure I
understand exactly what you expect. The Bluetooth icons should not
flash, but I need more details.

Thanks.

Hmm, I guess I wasn't able to find the link. Would you be kind enough to se=
nd it to me ?

Regarding Salling Clicker (SC), here the problem: when I drop a script/acti=
on on the Salling
Clicker prefs window (on the right side - "Scripts"), it only stays here un=
til I close the pref
panel. As if I had done nothing... I presume that's the reason why I can't =
update the menus
on my Palm.

Actually you're right about the BT icons, they do not flash during a transf=
er, but only when
I connect the Palm with the Mac.

My questions are:
Why do the new items, dropped on SC, disappear when I quit and relaunch Sys=
tem Prefs ?
What should I do to upload/update the items on the Palm ?

Thank you very much
Fabien

Fabien,

Sounds to me like your drive needs permissions repair. That'd explain
all the issues you're explaining below.

As for the link, just go to clicker.salling.com/scripts20/ and click
it. Make sure you use a working web browser.

Thanks.

I will try that, thanks for the tip.

Thank you for your kind help; I can access this page, and I can also access this one, http:/
/www.tyborg.com/blog/C1554592098/E1516614325/index.html, but there is no link to
download the script.

Thanks

How about clicking this: "Enjoy the script, which you can fetch by
visiting this link."

Thanks.

Damn, it must be me, I can't find the link on Tyborg's page "Log Phone Call script for SC".
Maybe I'm still asleep...

I repaired my permissions (which were fine), and I still have the same problem: the new
scripts are not saved, nor applied to the PDA.

Thanks
Fabien
