I am as happy as anyone for the success of the Clicker, but
unfortunately it has had
side effects, such as a hiatius on any more development on
MobileSync. This is
understandable - one has to go where the sales are. However, those
of us who were
successfully using MobileSync and looking forward to further
development and phone
support might be a bit disappointed.

To me, although Jonas has said it is non-trivial, an application like
MobileSync that
uses SyncML would be a logical next step. SyncML has support beyond
SonyEricsson.
*I* for one don't plan on buying a T610/T616 because it isn't quad
band. And I can't
switch to Apple's Address Book and mail apps because they don't do
the things I need
them to do - Entourage does. So unless Apple plans to add Entourage
support to
iSync (which I doubt - they're taking an almost Microsoft approach to
tie-ins) my only
choice is to write my own.

So, does anyone feel like joining me? The obivous first step would
be to duplicate
MobileSync, but in a modular format. In other words, we write
something that can
sync Entourage's database with a phone that speaks IrMC 1.1 Level 4
in a modular and
open fashion. Then we can work on writing modules to speak SyncML to
various
phones that need it (such as some of the Nokias, or perhaps
Motorolas).

Jonas said don't even think about it, but I'm afraid I don't have
much of a choice. :-)
The fact is that having everything all tied together has been so
great (Entourage
syncing both my phone and my Clie) and switching to
iSync/Mail.app/iSync/iCal just
isn't an option (mostly because of Mail.app). So if I want to keep
this functionality in
the future I can either petition Apple or Microsoft to provide it or
do it myself. And I
think the latter has a much better chance of working.

If you're interested in a project like this then drop me an email -
john@h....

Thanks,
John

Whilst I cannot offer any help myself, I do wish you luck.

Wanting to get more into my T68i from Entourage I thought about using
some of
those iPod utilities which grab daat from Entourage and export them
as vcards,
calander .ics files and so on. But no joy. I think the versions of
these files the T68i
accepts are not compatible with the ones exported.

Shame. Would have been a quick and dirty method.

I really do wish I could send more data over to the phone from
Entourage, even if I
have to manually send them over using the Bluetooth utility.

If any one knows of a solution using similar sounding utilities then
please let me
know.

Hi
if you try to export an .ics file from calendar and send it via BlueTooth
to your mobile do you get just a single line at the calendar entry of your =
T68i ?

If so - it is a problem your mobile has with the exported data but there is=
a
possibility to fix this. Open the file in texedit and see if you just have
DTSTART ; ... and DURATION entries. Your mobile needs DTSTART and
DTEND in order to work properly. You can calculate it on your own and inser=
t
the missing line by hand. I have written an app that fixes this - mail me p=
rivatly
if you like to have it, itīs free.

This is the only thing I can help you with.

Best Matthias

Well, there are several options.

I would start looking at sites like http://www.myt610.com and Esato=20
(http://www.esato.com/board/)

But! GPRS does NOT connect at a specific BW!!!! It's a data-flow thing,=20
that happens when you have data to send!
Normally you should get about 56K throughput, though...

Hope it helps...
