Hi All,

I'm a new owner of P800 and checking out Clicker - Kudos to Jonas! :-)

Have just spent this evening reading the groups posts from start to finish - I'm hungry!

I notice the P800 is specificly mentioned in the 10.2.5 update
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25405 - anyone know what the significance of this is yet?

Jonas - I'm curious about how you do the interface on the T68i - is there a SDK for that?
Is that why developing for the P800 is an issue?
Are you aware of the SDK stuff for the P800?
Would that help?
Have you seen these resources?
http://www.appforge.com/
http://wireless.java.sun.com/j2me/index.html (P800 = MIDP 1.0, CLDC 1.0, PersonalJava 1.1.1 )

http://www.handango.com/sonyericsson/framesetGlobal.jsp?siteId=784&device=P800

Apologies if I'm saying stuff you're well aware of :-/

For myself I can't wait to integrate everything!! I have some prog experience and am willing to help!

Updates in 10.2.5 is related to the Address Book, being able to=20
send/receive SMS & calls.

iSync'ing is a latter issue.... :-/

The big issue here, is that the P800 is not a 'phone' in the same=20
context as the T{68, 39, 610...}.
The P800 is a PDA running Symbion, with a phone build-in.

The others is phones, with an extended user interface. The underlaying=20
base is all that matters. That's why the P800 can't do the SEC stuff=20
right now. It does not have the API to do the [serial] interfacing for=20
doing the UI stuff possible on the phones. And, it does not (according=20
to several sources) have the API to make an application that would=20
simulate it.

It's a jungle, but at least not as big a jungle as the Nokia one... :-/
But it's frustration as a user/consumer. We can all look back on how=20
Apple added/removed IrDA on every other model, making it a powerful=20
interface, but not one we could trust was there. If only they would=20
stick to consistency.... we can only hope. ;-)

Hope it helps...

hi!

sorry, i hope not that my mail will get off-topic, but:

that doesn't work with me (x.2.5, ab installed, bluetooth running).
when i try to connect with ab, bluetooth connects, but before the three
running dots on the bluetooth icon (adress book button) disappear and the
icon gets blue (for working) it greys out again.
the blue led on my p800 blinks about three times faster than 'standbuy' -
and that's all what happens...

what's going wrong?
thanks,
steve

Hi..

Do you have SEC running at the same time?
If so, open SEC and click Select Device... with Option held down. That=20
will give you an extended Select Device dialog, where you are able to=20
specify the BT 'port' SEC should use. You should be able to select=20
'Dial-Up Networking', 'Serial 1' or 'Serial 2'. Try with one of the=20
serial ones.

Anyway, try to connect AB without SEC connected first.

Hope it helps...

My 2 cents would be to make sure you've set your P800 to always allow
acces from your computer (as paired). Le us know if that helps.
