I have been modifying the scripts that came with Salling Clicker to Danish and to support more of the new features in iTunes.

I'm familiar with the iTunes COM interface that I 'm using quite often in perl. Although this was my first "project" in JavaScript I find it easy to add additional commands and modify existing ones.

Salling CLicker is an excellent piece of software. :D

I would also like to be able to display the lyrics of a song on the phone and are trying to do so using the CreateMessageBox.

However only the first 10-15 lines of the lyrics are displayed on the phone.

Is this a limitation of my Sony Ericsson T630 or is it a limitation of the MessageBox?

I could use ListScreen with its automatic >>> and <<< instead, but would consider it misuse and I don't like to have the lyrics in bold either.

So is there a way to have the phone display the complete lyrics - up to hundred lines - in a scrolled window?

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the T630. Phones and devices that run the Salling client software (Symbian, Palm, Java/MIDP, Windows) can show more text in the scrolling text boxes (typically in excess of 2kb worth).

You could experiment with the ok and cancel callbacks, making OK move forward in the lyrics.

Best.

Thanks for the quick answer. That worked!

I now divide the lyrics into a number of sections consiting of a number of lines. Max size for a section is 140 characters.

Pressing OK will display to the next section. Pressing Cancel will display the previous.

Only problem remaining is that the MessageBox remembers the position of the scroll bar from the previous section.

Is there a way to tell MessageBox what the initial position of the scroll bar should be?

Unfortunately, the phone doesn't allow the scrollbar to be controlled.

You could chunk up the lyrics in smaller bits, I guess, to make scrolling back up less of a pain. :-(

Best.

I'd love to test out this lyrics plugin. I have a treo, so scrolling down to see more text should work for me. Thanks, James
