Hi!

Here are my first attempts to make own scripts...
Please note that i've hacked them quick and dirty
and so they may (will) have bugs or even fail to work.
The zip file contains 2 scripts:

* one will search for the artist with a searchstring
* two shows the current playlist and user may select a track

Please post your improvements.

c ya

Great, Thanks for that! Works good with me and searching artist is really helpful.
Anybody got an idea how to search for playlists? I tried to put a script together but I think my scripting skills are just to weak...
search for playlists
what do you mean exactly? How many playlists do you have? Are they in the media library?

There is THE 'winamp playlist' which you were working on. And there are those .m3u playlists or even the 'Smart View' playlists within the media library. With itunes and wmp script you can select those playlists, even add things to a specific playlist, but there is no such functionality for winamp. Since I have a lot of mp3 files, like I beleive most of the guys do that are using this program, and a lot of different kinds of music I use playlists (around 25 for genre and others). For sure it would be even more useful to be able to search for genre but I read here in the forum that it is hard to do, and the other scripts (itunes, wmp) already have a 'select playlist' script included...

hmm, after a short look on ActiveWinamp, i think it does not offer the possibility to control the playlists in the library.
I prefer to use the genre and a search by genre should be easier to realize...

Such a function would be greatly appreciated, and not only from me as there are other posts on this forum asking for that feature... I only know html and few java so I never even got so far as to say 'look at this, somehow its not working, what is wrong' :( But man, I'd really love that search option!! Anyway, thanks for your work so far with this great program.
