Hello everybody,

I would like to create an OnScreen Menu when Browsing files. To do so, my script will have to know, when the user is scrolling in the list on his handheld. Or, an even better alternative would be a continual update of the currently selected item.

As far as I found out from the default open-script, CreateListScreen has the event-handle (don't know if its the right expression for what I mean)
ValueUpdated (e.g. browser_ValueUpdated) which is triggered, when the "s"-key is pressed.

Is there an eventhanlde for CreateListScreen like
Update (that is simply called every few milliseconds) or
KeyDown/Keypressed (that is called when any key is pressed)?

The underlying code in BSPlayer Open could then look like this:

function browser_Update(theScreen){
var path = browser.itemLabels[browser.selectedItem] + "\\";
//show on Screen
var scrnLst = "";
if (browser.selectedItem > 1) {
scrnLst = scrnLst + " "+browser.itemLabels[browser.selectedItem-1]+" \n";
}
scrnLst = scrnLst +">"+browser.itemLabels[browser.selectedItem]+"<";
if (browser.selectedItem < browser.itemLabels.length) {
scrnLst = scrnLst +"\n "+browser.itemLabels[browser.selectedItem+1]+" ";
}
ShowMessage(scrnLst);
}

The list screen widget does not send events to the computer as the user is scrolling (or rather, changes the selection).

The idea is that the user interface dealing with the selection is already in front of the user (on the device).

Best.
