hya,

i tried out serveral bt-remote-controls but finally got stuck with salling clicker.
maybe not the best working (the PP scipt needs some improvment IMHO), but definetly the best looking..

but there's one BIG problem I have with the clicker: it prevents my Sony Ericsson K600i from saving power by turning off the display lighting. This (what a wonder) drains my battery quite fast. So when I used clicker to turn off my winamp when I go to sleep, but didn't shut down the app, the cellphone's shut down in the morning.

is there some kind of fix for that problem or do I have to live with it?

i experimented already with the reconnetion times and other options but no success. i figured out that the phone always tries to power off, but ist woken up again after half a second.

so please help...

Hi,

The backlight powersaving is suppressed for 10 minutes after the most recent keypress when you're inside a "controller".

This is done because when the backlight turns off, the first press on the keypad is "eaten" by the system, and this would make it very difficult to give presentations with the software, for instance.

What drained your battery appears to be that you kept the connection alive overnight, not the backlight suppression itself.

Please correct me if you think I'm wrong, ok? I think I've properly described the application behavior.

Best.

okay, so does that mean, the backlight turns off after 10 minutes or never?

i understand your reasons according to powerpoint, but is there a possibility to have this casewise? like backlight turns off in winamp-control after ~30sec, but never in the powerpoint-controller?

Like I said:

The backlight powersaving is suppressed for 10 minutes after the most recent keypress when you're inside a "controller".

"Casewise", as you're suggesting, is probably not a solution that'd fit everyone. I'll considering adding a general setting, however.

Best.

okay, i tried it out, works like a charme after 10 minutes. i just was too impatient...

thanks for your super-fast replies!

...and i have suggestion for your powerpoint-script.
what about changing the keymapping up/down (on a 4/5-way-button like on my K600i) to scrolling up/donw the notes. it would be very helpful to be able to read all of the note and not only the first few lines.
i think more users than only me would appreciate that...
