I can get the program to connect to my phone and monitor the phone status. It will pause the music when I am in a call.
But when I try to use the phone as a remote, I open the program and click connect. Then is sits in the connecting screen and says preparing. It will never get past that.
I have a sony ericsson w600i with bluetooth.
Is there any reason for this problem / how should I fix it?
Thanks

Hi,

Did you, as per the instructions, install the client application on your phone from wap.salling.com?

Best.

Yes, it is in the application on the phone that it says preparing.
It just sits in that screen and never does anything.

Hm. What kind of Bluetooth adapter is on your PC?

Also, is the W600i branded by Cingular or someone else?

Best.

Could that be causing any problems?

Your problem is weird. I suggest you consider the following:

1. Restart your PC

2. Make sure your phone and PC are properly paired.

3. Consider upgrading the firmware of your d-link adapter.

Best.

I have done all that. I know the bluetooth is working because I can use it to do anything else perfectly. It is only when I use this program that I see any problems.
Could it be that my phone is not fully supported or that I have it set up wrong?

I was trying it again today and it gave me the error:

Cannot connect (reason: java.lang.SecurityException)

Could this be why it has been hanging at preparing?

How should I fix it?

Please check the version in the About box in the Clicker software on your phone.

Best.

It says:
Corptihght 2005 Salling Software
All rights reserved. Sony Ericsson; V.3.0.33

Is that what you were looking for?

Yep. Like I said in my first response, you must install the client from wap.salling.com. Judging my the version number, you haven't done so...

Best.

I installed it by sending the .jar file to my phone through bluetooth. Will it not work if I do that?

If I use the wap browser will I be charged by my service provider?

Ok, well I updated it and have the version 3.0.36 now.
But when I try to connect I still get the
:
Cannot connect (reason: java.lang.SecurityException)
error.
How should I fix this?

(I removed your duplicate post)

Hm. I think it's still the Cingular thing, messing with the Java "permissions".

Please note that the phone requires you to authorize the Clicker client application to connect via Bluetooth.

If you misunderstand the popup showing on your phone and respond "no", you'll get the security exception error.

Try this:

1. On your phone, navigate to the list of applications/games where you installed Salling Clicker

2. Hilight Salling Clicker

3. Select "More"

4. Select "Permissions"

5. Select "Local Connectivity"

6. What options are available for you here? Please try selecting "Never ask" (or "always allow"; not sure how it's phrased on your phone).

Best.

When I click Local Connectivity, it just says "No permissions granted" and doesn't allow me to change the settings. Is this normal for this phone or is cingular blocking this setting or something?
