This is my personal solution to control a VLC player through salling clicker.
Hope you can find it usefull.

Take a look at the README.

Edit: *IMPORTANT* The new version can be found here

Hi,

There seems to be a bug in the installer. I have .NET Framework 2.0 instlled, but the setup still claims otherwise.

Here's the install log:

Output folder: C:\Program Files\VLCRemote
Skipped: Interop.AXVLC.dll
Execute: "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegAsm.exe" C:\Program Files\VLCRemote\Interop.AXVLC.dll
Skipped: VLCPlayer.dll
Missing .NET framework 2.0

Well, there are some problems with this release.

a) If the installer says that the .NET Framework is missing

Open a command shell go into the path of your RegAsm.exe, usually you have to type: [code:1]cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727[/code:1] then
Register the assembly with: [code:1]regasm <VLCRemote_Path>\Interop.AXVLC.dll[/code:1] usually: [code:1]regasm C:\Program Files\VLCRemote\Interop.AXVLC.dll[/code:1]
Do the same with VLCPlayer.dll

In any case you have also to copy VLCPlayer.dll into your Salling Clicker directory.

I'm working on a new version that doesn't require the VLC's ActiveX but only needs the RC interfaces of VLC.

Hello, I've the .NET Framework is missing problem

I do the regasm action, but problem is still there, in the salling clicker's log, I noticed that I've :
Open File - WshShell.RegRead
[Line: 13 (3)] Racine incorrecte dans la clé de Registre "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\emmekappa\VLCRemote\InstallDir"
And in the registry I don't find this key.

Thanks

Well, sorry for the delay...

This is the new version of VLCRemoteController, it's almost a write from scratch, I abandoned the requirement of VLC's ActiveX, now it only needs the RC interface of VLC (see README.TXT in the zip for details).

I love your vlc controller. I was trying to figure out a way to add files to the playlist, but I can't find the necessary commands. Where did you find teh commands for vlccontroller? Do you have any ideas about this?

Thanks

Sounds to me like you installed the scripts in the wrong way.

I see that the zip file comes with a README.

As you're not telling us what you did, it's hard to give any advice.

Best.

Hi!
Any one out there that could be able to help me?
I have a problem with VLC. I canīt open a file, play the file or do fullscreen. All that comes up is [object Error] in my cellphone display. The thing is that I have contact all the way in so I can start the VLC application but no further. Actually I can close it too. But these two thing probaly doesnīt have that much to do with the actually controling of the application. I mean, to execute a program isnīt the same as interact with I guess.

But problems still remains. What bit of the connecting between my cellphone and the actually interacting part, is wrong. Can you tell from this sort of a discribtion of the problem =)

Iīll keep trying though until someone is kind to answer.

(I'm swedish so the English ainīt perfect. So if thereīs any questions about what I mean, donīt hesitate to ask.)
