Hi!

I am setting up a SlimServer (XP for the moment) that will control my multi-zone audio system and I am now looking for the right remote control hardware and software. I want to use my WLAN and not Bluetooth.

1. Is Clicker the best product for this purpose?
2. What hardware should I buy?
3. I also want to be able to control other apps on the server. TV tuner and TV recording apps, for example. Can I accomplish this in Clicker?
4. If Iím used to Jscript and some VB, can I design my own Salling interface to contain all my apps?
5. Are there any screenshots availible showing how Clicker controls SlimServer (choosing player, i.e.).

Any feedback on this is much appreciated!

Claes

Salling Clicker for Windows does *not* come with ready-made support for Slimserver.

I know there's someone looking into providing a slim-solution under Windows, but as of now I do not know the status of these efforts.

Best.

As for #3 and #4, Clicker is pretty customizable (using JScript or VBScript), so it is theoretically possible to control any application that exposes a scripting interface (Slimserver doesn't, but you may be able to employ their command-line APIs).

Best.

There is one OK soft-remote solution for SlimServer , which runs on Mac/Win/Palm/WinCE/Phones etc. I'm using this one on my Mac as of today :-)

Good luck!

P.S. As for Salling Clicker, it integrates well with the SlimServer software itself on the Mac-side, so even us with non-wifi phones have a good solution here.
