Last week in the UK my O2 Moto V3 Razor that I have had for the last 13 months died :( But all this time it did not run Salling Clicker, which was a bummer

Luckily I had insurance, so I got a new one delivered today... :D

The new phone seems to be a V3 razor, that's not the V3i, V3x or any other one that I can find on the net. Its not got 3g or a sim expansion like the V3i, but it has the ability to capture video, which the original did not... I'm not sure, but maybe this is a slient upgrade to the V3?

Anyhow, tonight at home I've had success in getting the phone to connect to my mini-mac with salling clicker which I though impossible - hooray... see the pics on my flickr account here...

So does anyone know about this? I've looked over the forum here and can find any axamples of this....

Interesting indeed. Someone emailed me a few weeks back to let me know that some firmware names V3r could run Clicker.

For now, it's difficult for me to communicate that a "special" version of the V3 is compatible, however.

Thanks for your note; hopefully, it'll help others.

Best.

I'll post around on some other groups and see what others think this model might be and let you know.

Cheers

Still no luck from the forums, but some info from the phone I have under > Settings > Phone Status > Other Information

Flex version: SE6763AXXB107E
S/W Version: R4515_G_08.BD.43R
Technology: Quad-Band GSM
DSP S/W Version: 63222200

Can someone confirm for me if this is different from theirs?

Seems that, according to this post http://www.expansys.com/forumthread.asp?code=120110&thread=97&page=1 that they upgraded the video silently at some stage.

I do have some issues connecting at some stage to the mini mac, but it does allow me to control the itunes etc...

Interesting indeed. I encourage other V3 users could report results in this thread.

Please remember that any Motorola phone (except Windows and Symbian models) will require the Java client available on wap.salling.com (otherwise, the keymappings won't work; for now). You can download it to your computer for Bluetooth transfer from here:

I have the Razr V3 (SE Black edition). This one has the video camera, and under Java System it says:

CLDC Version: 1.0
MIDP Version: 2.0

I am trying out Sailing Clicker, and I got it installed. I used the version from wap.sailing.com/SailingClicker.jar

On my phone, the software installs, and I can get up to the Connect/About screen. At this point, if I do ANYTHING, if I click OK, if I hit the Enter button, if I use the arrow keys... ANYTHING... I get "Application Error".

I've been searching the forums, and google for a couple hours now, and I keep coming up empty.

My provider is Rogers Wireless (Canada). Any help would be great.

Sorry man. It appears then that your phone lacks the software features required.

Thanks for the data point; hopefully, it'll help others.

Best.

salling >> darn... I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. :( .. oh well, I'll just have to keep waiting :)

Just one more piece of info to add, hopefully it'll help the developers for future releases, or other people in the same boat,

the software version on my Razr is: R374_G_OE.42.07R_A

I'm still hunting around to see if there is a way I can upgrade the software/java (if there is a newer version available), I'll update as I find out more.

PostPosted: Mon Sep 04, 2006 3:54 pm    Post subject: Flashed V3? Reply with quote

Hi folks... been keeping an eye on these forums for a while as I'd love to use my V3 w/ Salling...

One quick question. I flashed my phone to remove the Cingular branding, apps and what not but I guess something is still missing because I get the "application error" as well. Any ideas if it might be possible to flash the required files onto the phone or is it a more significant difference between the V3 and V3i?

This stuff is a bit beyond me, but I'd love to see it up and running!

Yes, I get the "Application error" too:

SW R374_G_0E.42.08R

I've updated my phone software several times - I'll try to find out about this new version and will report back.

Edit: with my software I can capture video, which I couldn't with the original software.

It seems you have a V3r model; can you check your bootloader (turn phone off & turn it on with * and # pressed)? If it reads 0A.30 you have the V3r.

edit: here's a discussion link.

As I have not seen Motorola mention V3r anywhere, I suggest we talk about "V3 models with CLDC-1.1" instead; I understand this is the determining factor that also brings in support for JSR-82 (Bluetooth from Java) in these phones.

I've put together a little user agent sniffer. Point your "questionable" phone at this WAP URL:

wap.salling.com/ua.php

Then report back the results.

Best.

Nifty.

"I get MOT-V3/0E.42.10R MIB/2.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0."

Not sure what that means but I'll stay tuned. :)
