Thanks for the kind and helpful words.
Part of my hesitation has to do with Apple's behavior with respect the App Store. I might end up spending quite some time making a client, only to see it rejected due to duplication of features provided by Apple. And there's no way to get approval prior to submitting a finished application...
Best.

I've heard it is bad. Is there no way to see if there is a good or poor chance of approval?
If it isn't approved, what about the jailbroken methods, until it can be approved, if it can be at a later time?!
Anyway, I do understand your reluctance. |

There are at least two iPhone developers having other policies concerning Remote Control software. Take a look at jfControl Remote (Lite version free of charge available) and Rowmote, both for wireless LAN only:
http://www.digitalsirup.com/jfcontrol/
http://rowmote.com/Rowmote/Rowmote.html
However, in my point of view, both cant compensate for a still missing Salling Clicker on iPhone, e. g. in terms of usability. |

App Store ? I don't understand.
Why does Clicker "Have To Be" in the App Store ?
Why can't Clicker be developed to work on the iPhone, without Apple's ZANY approval process ? |

I still want this. I currently use Hippo Remote, and it's just not as good as Salling was on my Palm or WinMo. Please? Pretty please? |
