I am just testing Salling Media Sync. At first glance it promises to do exactly what I am looking for (a sync program to sync several iTunes playlists to my new Sony Ericsson Xperia X1). However, when testing it, it appears that it cannot sync MP3 files that are located on a mapped network drive, it just skips them and for a few files it puts in the log that it cannot find that file.

As I have almost all of my media files on a mapped network drive, this makes Salling Media Sync totally unusable for me at this moment. iTunes itself has no problems with the files being on a mapped network drive. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi,

I'm going to need more information from you. The application has been tested rather extensively with tracks on network drives.

Would you be able to compress the iTunes database xml file:

...\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml

and email it to me?

Best.

It turns out that on my first connect I had my phone still in ActiveSync mode (USB to PC connection setting). Salling Media Sync did connect to the phone using this, but when actually performing a sync, it did not really copy the files. After I switched the USB to PC connection setting to Diskdrive (faster connection), Salling Media Sync did synchronize all playlists. However, it now appears that after the sync I do not have any album art shown in the Sony Media Panel (which will show up if I sync with Windows Media Player, but then I don't get the playlists themselves synced, only the files referred to by the playlists). This means I now either have no album art (which I love) or I have to manually maintain playlists both on my PC and on my mobile. Not a perfect solution either way.

(I am aware that this album art issue may not be caused by Salling Media Sync but by the media panel software on the phone)
