I've had a couple of reports of this, with some resolved. So I wrote up a little FAQ entry:

(Preliminary) short version: Some of the SD-cards supplied with the Droid phones sold by Verizon may have problems.
Please note that I'm still interested in getting info about this problem, so if you're suffering please contact support. I won't take support questions in this thread, as this is a rather difficult issue to diagnose.
