Hello everyone,

firstly I have to say that I love my Media Sync despite this problem.

Let me try to explain:

I use Media sync on WindowsXP with the newest edition of Itunes.
My mobile hardware is a HTC Hero with Android. I try to sync
a few selected podcasts with the preference "recent 3".
The first time I sync everything seems to be fine.
The newest 3 episodes of each podcast is on my Hero.

But after syncing Itunes a few hours later with new episodes
in my checked podcast something's going wrong with media sync.
After syncing my Hero with Salling media only one (the newest)
episode can be found at each podcast.

If I uncheck all podcast, sync and then re-sync, there will
be 3 episodes again. But - as explained - this only works once.

Can anyone help or reproduce this? Besides, it makes no difference
if I change to "recent 5" or even "recent 10" podcasts. It still
will sync only one episode. The micro-sd card has definitely enough
space to sync all episodes.

Thanks in advance. And sorry, if solving the problem is completely easy and I'm just too stupid. But in this case help will be welcome as well. ;-)

axl

Could you please describe again, with more detail?

Exactly what are your podcast sync settings?

Are you saying we're removing podcasts from the phone? The log would tell you.

What I'd expect in your situation, if I understand it correctly (new episode showing up in itunes, after you're synced the "3 most recent"), one episode will be removed from your phone, and a new one will be added.

Best.

Thank you for answering so fast, I didn't expect that.
Und sorry for my rather bad english and the not very
detailed description.

I think I got the "solution". As mentioned it looks like
I'm a little bit stupid. It seemed to be a space problem.

As I unchecked (video) podcasts with rather large episodes
and then synced again - voila - other podcast episodes
(so far 1 episode each) filled up with the missing 2.

I thought there was plenty of space because the "space bar"
in Salling sync showed up about a fifth of "grey" (free space?).
But maybe I did get something wrong or simply underestimated
the size of the video podcasts or the size "reserved for future use".

Thank you for your help. If I'm having problems again I will
write again in here.

Best

Axl

Ok, call me a little bit erratic, but there is the problem again.
I will try to explain it later in a more detailed way.

There should be over 1GB space left, so that's not the problem.
Looks like media sync deals arbitrarily with the number of episodes
which are synced. Sometimes it syncs the "3 most recent" (as it should),
sometimes it syncs the 2 most recent and mostly only the last episode.

Especially when adding a "new" podcast (checking n new box in "selected podcast) these podcasts will be synced with only 1 episode. The podcasts I chose from the beginning (about 10 podcasts) seem to sync always with the "3 recent" episodes.

That's it for a start. Later more.

Best

It's me again and I start a new try to explain what
my problem is (it still exists).

I broke it down to a very simple situation. I want media sync
to sync 2 podcasts and I want it to sync the 3 most recent
episodes. Let's call these two podcasts A and B.

In Itunes these two podcasts are filled with 5 episodes each.
Let's call these episodes a, b, c, d, e, when e is the most recent
episode.

After running media sync podcast A has synced c, d, e which
I expected for these are the 3 most recent podcasts.
But podcast B has synced episode e only, which is the last one
but not the 3 most recent.

Then I started a sync with itunes which resulted in two downloads
of podcasts A and B. Now there are 6 episodes in each podcast.
a, b, c, d, e and f.

After syncing my device with media sync podcast A had then
the episodes d, e and f. I expected that for these are the 3 most
recent ones. Episode c is not longer content of podcast A.
Podcast B only contains episode f which is the most recent,
but doesn't contain d and e.

After that I changed the syncing preference from "3 most recent"
to "5 most recent". After syncing podcast A was filles with the episodes
b, c, d, e and f. But podcast B still contains only podcast f.

Finally I wildly chose lots of podcast, 27 audio podcast and 8 video podcast, turned preference back to "3 most recent" and synced again.
10 of 27 audio podcast are syncing as I expect them to do (with the 3 most recent episodes in it). The rest (17 audio an 8 video podcasts) will definitely sync only the most recent episode which leads to only one episode in the podcasts.

I really don't know what's the reason for this "mis-syncing" and I'm happy for any help.

Thanks in advance!

Best
