Hi there,

I'm syncing around 4GB of music from iTunes with Salling Media Sync to my HTC Touch Pro 2, but more than half of the music files don't make it to the MicroSD card. When checking the logs, I see a bunch of 'source file missing' errors. However, the source files are not missing. I can see them in iTunes and I can play them.

Everything was working fine until I formatted the SD Card to clear off any remaining files which were taking up room.

The iTunes folder is in the default folder and the iTunes Music Library.xml file has been deleted and recreated.

Any idea's guys?

Thanks

Rek

The file paths in the XML file are definitely missing. Otherwise the error wouldn't be shown.

You're syncing the iTunes library XML file between computers, are you? I have one such case, where the user synced the XML file between two computers where the user account name wasn't the same.

Best.

Thanks Jonas, after some heavy editing of the xml file (Multiple locations listed) it now works like a treat :)

One more problem I've notice though is that on the Summary page, it states that "Storage not available to Salling Media Sync" and when I click on browse it states that there is no space being used.
The music is all on the device and I've made sure that the device was set in Mass Storage Mode.

It's not really a problem as it still sync's but any ideas?

Thanks again :)

Hi,
One of my friend also faced the same problem . But his problem was solved. You should take care that they are perfectly connected and no other process running on the same data that you want to sync. HTC should be set to Mass storage. While synchronizing don't use your HTC for any other purpose.

You're really not going to want to edit the XML file. Did you check to make sure iTunes itself doesn't reference duplicate tracks (where some of the dupes have missing source files)?

As for your other question, I think you're misunderstanding what this means. Please see the Help topic "Managing storage on your device" to learn more.

Best.
