I would also appreciate if someone could write this script. I would, but unfortunately I don't have any coding skills so I wouldn't even know where to begin :(

Thanks in advance!

There's no need scripting skill to solve this issue!

If you take a look to the log, the script try to get the MPC's path from the following registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic and gets

Mon May 31 23:40:06 2010
Open Media - WshShell.RegRead
[Line: 69 (3)] Radice non valida nella chiave del Registro di sistema "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath".

It's in Italian my log, but it means "no valid root in the registry", it seems that from HKLM it can't get the software's path.

So i googled and i found that from HKCU the scripting works fine.

So i modified in the script (attached) the voice where it tries to get the path) and i added the same registry entry ExePath (string value) in the following registry voice

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic

MediaPC Remote.1.3.zip

sitill this same

i get this error:

"Cannot find MediaPC"

EDIT

i chcecked the path:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gabest\Media Player Classic]

and there wasn't file "ExePath" with path to my MPC

so i created file "ExePath" and put there key:
C:\\Program Files\\MPC HomeCinema (x64)\\mpc-hc64.exe"

with my destination to my MPC.

NOW is working :)

i attaching reg file with path to MPC - C:\\Program Files\\MPC HomeCinema (x64)\\mpc-hc64.exe"
if someone have same path then can use my regfile :)

path.reg

Download
 Filename:  path.reg
 Filesize:  372 Bytes
 Downloaded:  1131 Time(s)

What i said?

I didn't attach any reg file because the default path could change (32 or 64 bit) according to user's preferences.

And i didn't want to be the cause of registry crash
